AIKEN — Aiken County authorities are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred early December 21 on Good Springs Road near Confederate Road.
At approximately 2:27 a.m., a 2011 Cadillac SUV traveling west left the roadway and struck a tree, according to the Aiken County Coroner's Office.
The vehicle was occupied by a driver and a passenger, confirmed Master Trooper William Bennett with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Kevin R. Parker, 46, of Aiken, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene at 3:31 a.m., according to Chief Deputy Coroner Eric J. Ramey.
The driver was transported by EMS to a local hospital for treatment, Bennett stated.
An autopsy is scheduled for next week in Newberry. The Aiken County Coroner's Office and S.C. Highway Patrol are continuing to investigate the incident.
