A driver died on Monday night following a head-on collision involving a semi-truck in North Branch Township.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the incident occurred around 10:15 p.m. on Highway 95. A Jeep Patriot was traveling west when it crossed into the eastbound lanes near Hornsby Drive Northeast and struck a Mack semi-truck head-on.
Authorities report that the Jeep became engulfed in flames upon impact. There were no passengers in either vehicle. The State Patrol confirmed one fatality; however, details regarding the drivers have not yet been released.
The crash is currently under investigation, with more information anticipated later this week.
