A collision involving three vehicles on I-95 southbound near mile marker 42 resulted in one fatality this afternoon.
The crash occurred at approximately 2:45 p.m., halting traffic in both the right and center lanes, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
Emergency responders transported the driver of a sedan to Memorial Health, where they were later pronounced dead. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released.
Witnesses reported that the sedan collided with a pickup truck before being struck by an SUV. Two passengers in the pickup sustained minor injuries and were treated on-site.
Authorities are conducting an ongoing investigation into the crash. Tow trucks were dispatched to clear the scene, and lane closures are expected to last for several hours.
