Third deadly crash in Augusta claims another life.

Driver Dies in Augusta Crash, Marking Third Fatality in Four Days

A driver was killed in a crash Thursday morning on Deans Bridge Road at Dover Street in Augusta.

The collision occurred at approximately 7 a.m., near the Villa Europa restaurant and the Richmond County Marshal's Office. The man, whose identity has not yet been released, was transported to Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center but was at 7:41 a.m., according to Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen. An autopsy has been scheduled.

This incident marks the third fatal accident in the Augusta area within four days. On May 5, Camden Poole, an 8-year-old boy from Hephzibah, died from injuries sustained in a crash at Peach Orchard and Tobacco roads. On May 7, Andrew Mark Pregel was at 7:45 a.m. following a collision on Doug Barnard Parkway, near Augusta Regional Airport.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the latest crash. No additional details regarding injuries, vehicle types, or road conditions have been confirmed at this time.
