Multi-Vehicle Collision on I-95 South in Ormond Beach Leaves One Dead, Several Injured
Ormond Beach, FL—A multi-vehicle collision occurred on I-95 South near mile marker 268 at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Thursday, resulting in one fatality and multiple injuries.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident involved four vehicles, including two SUVs and two sedans. One vehicle overturned in the crash, causing a significant traffic backup and lane closures. Emergency medical services transported four individuals to area hospitals, including one person in critical condition.
Authorities reported that the driver of one of the sedans, a 26-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the accident is still under investigation, with traffic units on site to secure evidence.
As a result of the collision, the southbound lanes of I-95 were closed for approximately two hours, with traffic being diverted onto nearby roadways. Tows were arranged to remove the damaged vehicles.
