Two-Vehicle Collision on Highway 41 Results in One Fatality
A two-vehicle collision occurred on Highway 41 near Oakwood Road in Pleasantville at approximately 1:37 p.m. today, resulting in one fatality.
Authorities confirmed the deceased is a 34-year-old male driver from Pleasantville. Another driver, a 29-year-old woman, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Pleasantville Medical Center for treatment. Her current condition is unknown.
The collision involved a pickup truck and a sedan. Witnesses reported the pickup was traveling northbound when it collided head-on with the southbound sedan. The impact caused significant damage to both vehicles, prompting a response from the Pleasantville Police and Fire Departments.
As a result of the incident, both northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 41 were closed for approximately two hours while emergency responders conducted their investigation and cleared the wreckage. The roadway has since reopened.
The investigation, led by the Pleasantville Police Department, is ongoing as authorities seek to determine the cause of the collision. No further information has been released at this time.
