COLUMBIA — A multi-vehicle crash temporarily closed a major intersection downtown on the morning of March 6, according to Columbia Police.
The collision occurred at the Assembly Street and Blossom Street intersection, prompting a response from the Columbia Police Department's Traffic Safety Unit.
Authorities reported that at least three vehicles were involved, resulting in minor injuries. Emergency medical services provided on-site assistance; however, no fatalities were noted.
Traffic was rerouted, and lane closures were in effect while the investigation took place. The stretch of Blossom Street near the intersection sees approximately 31,100 vehicles daily, according to 2024 South Carolina Transportation data.
