HAMPTON, Va. — A single-vehicle accident on Fox Hill Road resulted in one fatality, as reported by the Hampton Police Department.
At approximately 3:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of a car crash in the first block of Fox Hill Road. Upon arrival, they located the vehicle in a ditch.
The driver was able to exit the car independently before officers reached the scene; however, the passenger remained trapped inside due to both her injuries and surrounding foliage, according to police.
Hampton Fire and Rescue personnel successfully extricated her from the vehicle and transported her to a nearby hospital. While her injuries were initially assessed as non-life-threatening, she ultimately succumbed to her injuries on Friday, as confirmed by the Norfolk Medical Examiner's Office.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing, according to the Hampton Police Department.
