WELLESLEY, Mass. —
A driver was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead following a one-car crash on Washington Street Thursday morning, police said.
Authorities reported that a woman flagged down an officer at 11:18 a.m. near a black SUV stopped in the roadway at Glen Road.
Upon arrival, the officer discovered the driver unconscious inside the vehicle. The Natick Fire Department transported the driver to Newton Wellesley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
According to police, the SUV was traveling eastbound on Washington Street, leaving the roadway at Orchard Street before reentering and stopping near 76 Washington Street.
Police indicated that the area would remain closed to traffic for an extended period as investigators conducted their inquiry.
The identity of the driver has not been released pending family notification.
