WELLESLEY, Mass. —
A driver was found unresponsive and later died following a one-car crash on Washington Street on Thursday morning.
At 11:18 a.m., a woman flagged down an officer, indicating a black SUV stopped in the roadway near Glen Road. Upon arrival, the officer noted the driver was unconscious.
The Natick Fire Department transported the driver to Newton Wellesley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities reported that the SUV was traveling eastbound on Washington Street when it left the roadway at Orchard Street. It reentered before stopping near 76 Washington Street.
Police indicated that the area would be closed to traffic for an extended period due to the ongoing investigation.
The identity of the driver is being withheld pending family notification.
