LOUISVILLE, Ky. — I-264 East is closed in west Louisville due to police activity related to a traffic reconstruction.
Authorities reported the closure began at approximately 9:30 a.m. near Virginia Avenue and Dumesnil Street, affecting the Bells Lane exit. MetroSafe confirmed there are no injuries related to the shutdown.
The Louisville Metro Police Department indicated the reconstruction is connected to a fatal crash that occurred in the area last weekend. As of 12:20 p.m., I-264 East has reopened.
Traffic is currently being redirected off the interstate at the Bells Lane exit, according to a LENSAlert Traffic Advisory. The duration of the road closure was initially unclear.
