LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville Metro Police Foundation is raising funds for an officer killed in a motorcycle crash on Sunday night.
Officer Anthony Elliott, 29, died in the incident, which occurred just before 10 p.m. on the Gene Snyder Freeway. According to authorities, Elliott was riding a motorcycle when he collided with a semi-truck, resulting in him being thrown from the bike.
Despite wearing a helmet, Elliott was pronounced dead at the scene. The Louisville Metro Police Foundation has initiated an “Officer in Distress” fund to support his family in this difficult time.
