PEARL CITY, HI — A 45-year-old woman sustained critical injuries Friday afternoon in a collision while entering a private driveway.
At approximately 1:40 p.m., the woman was traveling north on Waimano Home Road when she made a left turn and struck another vehicle exiting the driveway, according to the Honolulu Police Department's Traffic Division.
Honolulu Emergency Medical Services reported that paramedics treated the driver for life-threatening injuries before transporting her to a local hospital in critical condition.
The 30-year-old driver of the other vehicle remained at the scene and was uninjured, authorities confirmed.
Police stated that they do not believe speed was a factor in the crash and are investigating whether drugs or alcohol played a role. No further details regarding lane closures or tows were provided.
