SUSPECT IN CHARLESTOWN SURRENDERS TO POLICE

BOSTON, MA — A man wanted in connection with a hit-and-run incident that critically injured a surrendered to authorities on Friday.

Luis Serrano, 28, of Roxbury, turned himself in at the downtown police station. He faces charges of assault to kill, reckless operation, and leaving the scene of an accident involving injury.

The incident occurred Thursday at approximately 7:05 p.m. on Bunker Hill Street near Trenton Street when Serrano allegedly fled his vehicle after it became lodged in a fence. Witnesses reported an argument between Serrano and the before the crash.

Boston Emergency Medical Services transported the critically injured pedestrian to a local hospital.

Serrano is scheduled to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court. Authorities have not provided information regarding his legal representation or details surrounding the pre-incident argument.
