LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A hit-and-run crash in Valley Station left an 18-year-old seriously injured on Friday night.
According to authorities, Kingston Maestas was riding a motorized bike on Dixie Highway when he attempted to turn onto Valley Station Road and collided with a southbound vehicle. The driver did not stop after the incident.
Kingston's father, David Magalogo, reported that his son was returning home from work around 11:30 p.m. When Kingston did not arrive home, his family grew concerned after he missed work and a family birthday. Friends later located him after retracing his movements.
Kingston was subsequently transported to the hospital with severe injuries, including a collapsed lung, severed artery, and broken nose. He remains in intensive care and recently underwent surgery to repair his injuries.
Authorities noted that Kingston's phone and his motorized bike were missing from the scene. The family expressed gratitude towards those who assisted in the search and support for Kingston.
