BOONE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX NEWS) — A motorcycle crash Sunday evening on Dixie Parkway claimed the life of a 47-year-old man.
According to the Boone County Sheriff's Office, Robert Schulze was riding a 2021 Harley-Davidson southbound on Dixie Highway when he failed to navigate a left-hand curve at the intersection of Duffel Lane. The motorcycle left the roadway, struck a culvert, and collided with a metal gate, resulting in Schulze being thrown from the bike.
Authorities said Schulze was pronounced dead at the scene. The Boone County Sheriff's Office Accident Reconstruction Unit is conducting an investigation into the incident.
Preliminary findings suggest that speed and alcohol may have contributed to the crash. Schulze was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
