PAXTON TOWNSHIP, Ross County, Ohio — A two-vehicle crash on State Route 41 near milepost 2 at 4:13 p.m. Monday left one driver dead.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol's Chillicothe Post, a 1984 Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by Vernon Holbert, 62, of Waverly, was traveling northwest when it failed to negotiate a curve and went left of center.
The Monte Carlo struck a 2017 GMC Sierra driven by Kenton Weaver, 29, of Bainbridge, authorities said.
Holbert was pronounced dead at the scene. Weaver sustained minor injuries.
No other occupants were involved, according to the Patrol.
Bainbridge Fire and Paxton Township EMS assisted. Route 41 southbound was closed about 3 hours during the investigation.
The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
