RHAME — A 19-year-old man from Pierre, South Dakota, died in a single-vehicle crash Sunday evening in Bowman County.
The incident occurred around 6:50 p.m. MT on the 8400 block of 158th Avenue Southwest, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol. Authorities reported that the driver was operating a 2023 Toyota Tacoma southbound when he lost control and rolled into the east ditch after overcorrecting.
The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Road conditions were noted as good, with normal weather conditions prevailing, albeit with some smoke in the area.
Emergency response teams included the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Bowman County Sheriff's Office, Bowman Ambulance Service, Rhame Fire Department, and Bowman Fire Department.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, according to the Highway Patrol.
