Four hospitalized in six-car crash on Route 6 in Sandwich
SANDWICH, Mass. —
Four individuals were hospitalized following a six-car collision on Route 6 in Sandwich, Massachusetts, on Saturday morning.
The incident occurred just before 9 a.m. eastbound at mile marker 62, between Old Exits 3 and 4.
According to the Sandwich Fire Department, the crash involved six vehicles, including two vans and two SUVs, requiring assistance for 18 people. One person was extricated from a vehicle.
Of those evaluated, four were transported to Cape Cod Hospital for treatment.
Emergency response included two additional Sandwich ambulances, along with units from West Barnstable and Bourne.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
At the same time, three other calls for service were managed by Mashpee and additional Sandwich units, authorities reported.
