Two people were injured in a crash on Highway 54 in Miller County on Saturday evening.
The accident occurred at 10:12 p.m. in the eastbound lanes, west of Missouri 52, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. A 17-year-old from Eldon was driving a 2013 Mazda 3 when they made an unsafe left turn in front of a 2011 Subaru Forester, operated by a 40-year-old woman from Lake Ozark.
The Subaru collided with the side of the Mazda and subsequently veered off the right side of the road. A 15-year-old girl in the Mazda was transported to Lake Regional Hospital with moderate injuries. EMS crews also took a passenger in the Subaru, a 65-year-old man from Columbia, to the same hospital, where he was treated for moderate injuries.
Authorities are investigating the incident. No further details regarding the scene or potential charges have been confirmed at this time.
