LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — An 8-year-old is in critical condition following a crash on Sunday night in northeast Las Vegas.
The incident occurred around 9:33 p.m. near North Lamb Boulevard and North Las Vegas Boulevard, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
Authorities reported that the child was crossing North Las Vegas Boulevard outside of a designated crosswalk when a northbound 2011 Hyundai Elantra struck the child.
Emergency Medical Services responded promptly, transporting the child to University Medical Center, where their injuries were classified as critical.
The driver of the Hyundai remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment.
The incident is under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Collision Investigation Section.
