LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A 33-year-old woman has died following a two-vehicle crash in southwest Las Vegas on June 10, according to police.
The collision occurred at approximately 5:13 p.m. on Warm Springs Road near Montessouri Street, west of Rainbow Boulevard, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police reported. A 2020 Toyota Sienna and a 2021 Tesla Model Y were both traveling east on Warm Springs when the Toyota crossed into the westbound lanes before veering back, resulting in the crash.
The woman, a passenger in the Sienna, was transported to UMC with serious injuries. Initially reported as critical but stable, her condition worsened, and she died at UMC, marking the 53rd traffic-related fatality this year in LVMPD's jurisdiction.
Both drivers remained at the scene. The operator of the Toyota, 73-year-old Calvin Hayashi, exhibited signs of impairment and was subsequently booked into the Clark County Detention Center. He faces charges of felony DUI resulting in death and misdemeanor failure to drive on the correct side of the street. An initial court appearance is scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
Authorities stated that the investigation remains ongoing, and lane closures were implemented as the scene was processed.
