LAMAR COUNTY, Miss. — The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred Saturday at 2:10 p.m. on Highway 589.
Troopers reported that a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 40-year-old Nicole Prestenbach of Petal, was traveling south when it collided with a 2025 Honda motorcycle heading north. The motorcycle was operated by 30-year-old Andretta English of Seminary, an investigator with the Forrest County Sheriff's Office.
Prestenbach and an 8-year-old passenger in the Silverado sustained no injuries. English was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and later succumbed to those injuries.
Authorities confirmed that the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
