Capitol Police Pursuit Ends in Crash; Three Arrested
JACKSON, Miss. — Three individuals are in custody following a pursuit by Capitol Police that concluded in a crash Wednesday night.
According to authorities, the incident commenced around 8:30 p.m. when officers attempted to stop a vehicle near John Lynch Street and Arbor Vista Boulevard. The driver, identified as 26-year-old Destiney Parks, failed to comply and led officers on a brief chase that concluded in a wreck at Grand Avenue and West Capitol Street.
Parks has been charged with felony fleeing. A passenger, 31-year-old Keeunna Welch, faces charges of disorderly conduct and failure to comply with lawful commands. The second passenger, 35-year-old Jeremy Crump, was arrested due to an active warrant from the Ridgeland Police Department.
Details on what initiated the traffic stop remain unclear. The investigation is ongoing.
