GARDEN CITY, Utah (KUTV) — A 17-year-old girl from California was killed in an off-highway vehicle accident in Garden City on June 19.
The crash occurred around 4:15 p.m. at Heritage Park. Four teenagers were reportedly performing “donuts” in the parking lot when the vehicle overturned.
The victim, seated in the back, was ejected from the vehicle. Authorities confirmed she was not wearing a seat belt or helmet at the time.
Emergency responders attempted lifesaving measures, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Utah Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division acknowledged the assistance of Intermountain Health Lifeflight, Rich County Sheriff's Office, Rich County EMS, and the Garden City Fire District.
The incident remains under investigation. Condolences have been offered to the victim's family and friends.
