MAGNA, Utah (KUTV) — Two people were killed in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 late Sunday night.
Utah Highway Patrol reported the incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. in the westbound lanes near milepost 104. A total of five vehicles, including a semi-truck, were involved.
According to Lt. Cameron Roden, the two victims, from separate vehicles, died at the scene. Two additional individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a local hospital.
Authorities have not released the identities of the deceased. Investigators are currently working to determine the cause of the crash.
Westbound I-80 from Salt Lake County into Tooele County was closed for several hours following the incident but has since been fully reopened.
