ST. IGNATIUS – A 28-year-old woman died in a rollover crash in the Mission Valley Thursday evening.
The Montana Highway Patrol (MHP) reported the incident occurred shortly after 9 p.m. on McDonald Lake Road, north of St. Ignatius. The driver was traveling westbound when her vehicle began to drift off the roadway.
According to MHP, the driver overcorrected, resulting in the pickup skidding off the road, rolling over, and colliding with a fence. The victim was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, later pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities suspect drugs and speed contributed to the crash. The identity of the victim has not yet been released. An investigation is ongoing.
