Woman dead, two injured in high-speed crash in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A woman is dead and two men are injured following a crash near Marian University early Sunday morning.

At 3:40 a.m. on October 1, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to a report of a personal injury accident in the 3200 block of Cold Spring Road. Authorities found a wreck where the had struck an electrical pole, resulting in two of the three occupants being from the vehicle.

One woman was at the scene. The other two occupants, both men, were transported to a local hospital; one is reported in stable condition, while the other is in critical condition.

Investigators stated that the vehicle was traveling northbound on Cold Spring Road at a high rate of speed before losing control and colliding with the pole. As of now, it remains unclear who was driving the vehicle.

Intoxication is considered a possible factor in the crash. The individuals consented to a blood draw, as is standard procedure in fatal accidents. The investigation is ongoing.
