Sunday crash in Chihuahua kills two U.S. Embassy officials and two Mexican officials.

Four officials, including two from the U.S. Embassy, were killed in a crash in Chihuahua state on Sunday, authorities said.

Authorities said the other victims were a Mexican official and an officer. Details on the roadway, direction, number of vehicles and cause were not released.

According to Reuters, the two U.S. Embassy officials had been working to shut down a drug lab in Morelos.

U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Ronald Johnson acknowledged the deaths in a statement on X. No information on emergency response, tows or lane closures was provided.
