(WJAR) — A woman was arrested for driving under the influence following a hit-and-run crash in Cranston on Wednesday.
Jerrie Walmsley, 35, is accused of rear-ending another vehicle at the intersection of Park Avenue and Budlong Road just before 5:00 p.m. According to authorities, Walmsley exhibited signs of intoxication, including bloodshot eyes and the odor of alcohol.
Witnesses reported that she was unsteady on her feet, prompting the responding officer to halt the sobriety test for her safety. Walmsley was taken into custody on DUI charges.
In addition, she faces charges for failing to stop at the scene of the accident that resulted in injuries. Authorities confirmed that there was also an existing warrant for her arrest. No further details on injuries or involved vehicles have been released.
