(WJAR) — A Southbridge woman is facing charges following a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred in Webster on April 11.
Authorities said 35-year-old Sherry Plitouke was arraigned Tuesday on charges of motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation, negligent operation, and speeding. She has been held on $25,000 bail.
According to the Worcester County District Attorney's Office, Webster Police responded to School Street for a report of a pedestrian being struck. The victim, identified as 10-year-old Marleigh Guevara, was transported to UMass Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead the following day.
Emergency responders were on the scene, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing. Further details regarding any lane closures or tows during the response were not provided.
