Three people were involved in a two-vehicle crash on Monday afternoon in Saline County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), at approximately 2:40 p.m., a 2024 Freightliner was traveling eastbound on Highway 41, west of Lime Avenue.
As the Freightliner made a left turn, a 2011 Chevrolet, also heading east, attempted to overtake it and struck the driver's side.
The impact caused the Chevrolet to veer off the roadway into a ditch, where it overturned and came to rest on its roof.
The 52-year-old male driver of the Freightliner from Marshall, MO, sustained injuries and was transported to Fitzgibbon Hospital for treatment.
The 77-year-old female driver of the Chevrolet and her 51-year-old female passenger, both from Slater, MO, were seriously and moderately injured, respectively.
Both women were transported to University Hospital by EMS.
MSHP reported that the male driver was wearing a seatbelt, while the women were not.
Authorities have not released further information regarding the investigation or potential charges.
