A motor vehicle crash on I-44 late Saturday night prompted a response from the Doolittle Rural Fire Protection District near mile marker 173.
Authorities said a passenger vehicle collided with a semi-truck, resulting in the passenger vehicle catching fire. No injuries were reported.
As firefighters concluded their operations, they encountered an individual in distress who appeared to be experiencing a mental health crisis. Firefighters provided support until law enforcement could assist.
