A portion of U.S. 70 West was closed on Wednesday night following a vehicle crash in Morehead City.
The westbound lanes were shut down just past Old Murdoch Road around 10:00 p.m., according to the Morehead City Police Department.
Authorities said police were detouring westbound traffic at Old Murdoch Road and advising motorists to use U.S. 24 as an alternate route.
Emergency responders were on the scene, awaiting the North Carolina State Highway Patrol's arrival for an investigation.
