Two Women Sustain Serious Injuries in Highway 50 Crash in Gasconade County.

Two women suffered serious injuries Saturday night in a collision on U.S. Highway 50 in Gasconade County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP).

The incident occurred at approximately 8:25 p.m. near 2101 U.S. Highway 50. A 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek, which had stopped in the roadway, was struck from behind by a 1999 Ranger. Both vehicles were traveling westbound.

Two passengers in the Subaru—ages 25 and 29, from Union and Federal Way, Washington, respectively—sustained serious injuries. Both were wearing seat belts and were transported by Owensville EMS to Mercy Washington Hospital for treatment.

The drivers, aged 29 and 25 from Union and Hermann, were also restrained and reported no injuries. Both vehicles were deemed totaled and towed from the scene.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
