Two Tuscaloosa residents died early June 22 in a single-vehicle crash in Tuscaloosa County.
George L. Porter III, 19, and Latayia Necole Furr Prewitt, 22, were both pronounced dead at the scene after the 2013 Nissan Maxima they were in left the roadway, struck a guy wire, became airborne, and overturned, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
The driver, Eric L. Hayes Jr., 20, of Bessemer, sustained injuries and was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The incident occurred at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Crescent Ridge Road Northeast near Ninth Street Northeast, about one mile north of Tuscaloosa.
Troopers with ALEA's Highway Patrol Division are investigating the crash. No further information has been released by authorities.
