A 17-year-old from Demopolis died in a crash early Jan. 31 in Marengo County, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
The accident occurred around 12:15 a.m. when the teen's 2018 Silverado left Marengo County Highway 44, entered a ditch, and struck a tree. The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities reported the crash happened near the intersection of Marengo County Highway 44 and Highway 39, approximately two miles south of Dayton.
No additional details have been released. The investigation is ongoing, led by Troopers from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's Highway Patrol Division.
