Two teens killed and three others seriously injured in Cache Valley crash.

MILLVILLE, Utah — Two teenagers died in a crash on State Route 165 Saturday evening.

The Utah Highway Patrol reported that at approximately 7 p.m., a Corolla lost control near 2300 South, crossing into oncoming traffic where it collided with a Sienna minivan, resulting in the Corolla rolling over.

There were five occupants in the Corolla; three were during the collision. A 17-year-old boy was at the scene. A 14-year-old girl later died at a hospital from her injuries. Neither were wearing seatbelts, according to UHP. An investigation is ongoing, with speed being considered a potential factor.

Authorities have not released the names of the minors, but family members confirmed their identities. The deceased 17-year-old has been identified as Laulea “CJ” Fiefia. His family has initiated a GoFundMe fundraiser for funeral expenses. Tributes describe him as hardworking and dedicated to his family.

The 14-year-old girl was identified as Xylie Hutchinson. Her family stated she suffered severe head trauma. A separate GoFundMe campaign has been set up to assist with her medical and funeral costs.

Three other occupants of the Corolla are ; their conditions have been upgraded from critical to serious as of Monday afternoon. The driver and passengers of the minivan sustained minor injuries.

All individuals in the Corolla were either current or former students of the Cache County School District. The district expressed condolences to the affected families and announced counseling services are available for students.

A memorial for Fiefia and Hutchinson has been established near the crash site and has since moved for safety reasons.
