SIX LAKES, Mich. — Two 17-year-olds were killed, and one person injured in a four-vehicle crash on M-46 near Derby Road late Thursday night.
According to Michigan State Police, the crash occurred at approximately 11:11 p.m. A westbound vehicle, driven by a 49-year-old man from Grandville, rear-ended a vehicle containing the two teenagers. This collision caused the vehicle to spin into eastbound traffic, where it was struck by a pickup truck and subsequently T-boned by an SUV.
The two 17-year-olds were pronounced dead at the scene. A woman driving the SUV was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Authorities indicated that alcohol may be a contributing factor in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing, with lane closures in effect during the response and cleanup efforts.
