KOOSKIA, Idaho (CBS2) — The Idaho County Coroner has confirmed the identities of three motorcyclists killed in a crash on U.S. Highway 12 east of Kooskia on Tuesday.

The deceased riders were identified as Ethan Powers, 35, of Timnath, Jeremy Coleman, 45, of Berthoud, and Nathan McCormick, 26, of Loveland, all from Colorado. Two of the victims were deputies with the Larimer County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities said the incident occurred at milepost 113 when a pickup truck, driven by 60-year-old Neal Bewer of Colorado Springs, crossed the double yellow centerline while attempting to pass a vehicle in a no-passing zone. This resulted in a with the motorcyclists.

Bewer was arrested and booked into the Idaho County Jail on probable cause for three counts of vehicular manslaughter.

The Larimer County Sheriff's Office expressed condolences on social media, stating, “These were incredible people who dedicated their lives to making Larimer County better every single day.”

Emergency response agencies, including the Idaho State Police, are currently investigating the collision. No further information on injuries has been released.
