Three Killed in Crash on U.S. 12 in Idaho

KOOSKIA, ID — Three men, including two deputies from the Larimer County Sheriff's Office, were killed in a motorcycle collision around 4 p.m. on Tuesday, according to Idaho State Police and the Larimer County Sheriff's Office.

The deceased have been identified as 35-year-old Ethan Powers of Timnath, 45-year-old Jeremy Coleman of Berthoud, and 26-year-old Nathan McCormick of Loveland, the Idaho County Coroner confirmed.

Preliminary investigations indicate a westbound 2019 F-150 attempted to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone on U.S. 12, crossing into the eastbound lane and colliding with the motorcyclists. All three men died at the scene.

The pickup truck driver, 60, is facing three counts of felony vehicular manslaughter, according to the Idaho County Jail current inmate list.

“Sgt. Jeremy Coleman and Deputy Ethan Powers were taken far too soon,” the Colorado Fraternal Order of Police stated in a social media post. The Larimer County Sheriff's Office praised the deputies as dedicated community servants.

Authorities reported that lane closures were in effect while the scene was cleared and an investigation continues.

A GoFundMe campaign has been established to assist McCormick's wife, Zoe, and their two young children, with donations aimed at covering living expenses and childcare.
