AUBURN — One car was overturned following a collision on Center Street Friday afternoon.
At approximately 2 p.m., 78-year-old Amelita Sales of Lewiston was exiting the Auburn Plaza at 730 Center St. when she made a wide turn and collided with a southbound vehicle. Authorities said the second vehicle, a Nissan Altima operated by 24-year-old Roberta Merrill from Lewiston, struck Sales' Toyota Camry, causing it to flip onto its roof.
Emergency responders from local police and fire departments arrived at the scene. A section of Center Street between Mount Auburn Avenue and Joline Drive was temporarily closed during the response but was reopened shortly thereafter.
Both drivers were transported to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with minor injuries.
Authorities reported that no charges are expected in relation to the incident.
