PUTNAM COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — A wreck in Putnam County hospitalized two drivers and temporarily shut down southbound lanes of U.S. 35 on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident, involving a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle, occurred near mile marker 12 in the Buffalo area, according to investigators.
Authorities stated a vehicle crossed the median and struck the tractor-trailer head-on.
The driver of the passenger vehicle sustained life-threatening injuries, while the truck driver reported minor injuries. Emergency medical services transported the injured drivers to local hospitals.
Lane closures were implemented as a safety measure while the scene was cleared. The investigation is ongoing.
