Two dead in motorcycle-pickup truck crash in Nashville.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Two individuals were fatally injured Thursday morning in a collision between a motorcycle and a pickup truck at Trousdale Drive and Briarwood Drive.

According to Metro Police, the crash occurred at approximately 9:15 a.m. when a BMW motorcycle, traveling north on Trousdale Drive, collided with the driver's side door of a 2009 Ford F-150.

The motorcyclist, identified as 22-year-old Nicholas Moralas Gomez, was at the scene. The pickup driver, 37-year-old Dale Clay, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities reported that Clay was traveling east on Briarwood Drive and had entered the intersection for a turn when the incident occurred.

Investigators found no signs of impairment, noting that the motorcyclist had the right of way. The investigation will also examine whether speed was a contributing factor.

No road closures were reported following the incident.
