ASHLAND, Ky. (WCHS) — Two individuals were killed in a motorcycle crash on Sunday night in Ashland, Kentucky.
The collision occurred around 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Winchester Avenue and 25th Street, according to the Boyd County Coroner's Office. A motorcycle and a pickup truck were involved in the incident.
Authorities confirmed that both occupants of the motorcycle—a male driver and a female passenger—were pronounced dead at the scene. It was reported that they were wearing helmets at the time of the crash. Preliminary findings suggest that excessive speed may have contributed to the accident.
