NEWAYGO COUNTY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU) — Michigan State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Sept. 10 at the intersection of Warner Avenue and 80th Street in Sheridan Township.
According to authorities, a 76-year-old woman from Twin Lake was driving a 2016 Subaru Crosstrek eastbound on 80th Street when she failed to stop at the stop sign. Her vehicle was subsequently struck by a northbound 2018 Ford F-250, driven by a 38-year-old man from Muskegon.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the man sustained minor injuries. Emergency services closed the roadway for several hours to facilitate the investigation and scene clearance.
Troopers noted that alcohol or drugs do not appear to have been factors in the collision. The investigation is still ongoing.
