INDIANAPOLIS — An Indiana State Police trooper was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after being struck by a suspected drunk driver on Interstate 65 south of downtown Indianapolis Thursday night.
Trooper Haley Howard was blocking a lane to protect another officer assisting a disabled vehicle when the incident occurred. According to Indiana State Police, the driver who struck her patrol car is believed to be impaired.
Howard was transported to the hospital for treatment of her injuries. Authorities have not yet announced any arrests related to the incident.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and no further details have been confirmed regarding lane closures or tows.
