Bus Rollover Crash in Knightstown Injures Four
KNIGHTSTOWN, Ind. (WISH) — A rollover crash involving a school bus and three other vehicles occurred at 4:52 p.m. on Monday in a construction zone on I-70 eastbound, near the Knightstown and New Castle exits.
According to the Knightstown Fire Department, four individuals sustained injuries in the accident. Three of the injured were transported to a local hospital, while one person was taken to a hospital in Indianapolis. No children were on the bus at the time of the incident, and the conditions of the injured have not been disclosed.
“This was a significant incident that required the combined efforts of multiple local and state agencies,” said Lt. Kaleb Buchanan, public information officer for the Knightstown Fire Department. Authorities appreciated public cooperation as emergency crews worked to ensure safety and reopen the roadway.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, with no further details reported at this time. Traffic in the area may have been affected due to the incident and subsequent response efforts.
