WRIGHT TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Three people died in a wrong-way crash on I-96 early Friday morning, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office.
The crash occurred at approximately 3:25 a.m. near Eastbound I-96, just west of exit 23 near Marne. Authorities reported that a vehicle traveling westbound in the eastbound lane collided with another mid-size SUV containing a driver and a passenger.
Emergency responders, including traffic services and deputies, documented the scene, and drone units assisted in the investigation. Roadway clearance efforts were ongoing during this time.
No details regarding the identity of the victims or specific injuries have been released pending notification of next-of-kin. An investigation into the circumstances of the crash remains active, authorities said.
