Three Injured in Plane Crash in Jefferson Davis County
PRENTISS — A single-engine plane crash-landed Saturday afternoon in a field on Thurman Road in Jefferson Davis County, injuring three occupants.
According to WDAM-TV, a man, woman, and child, who have not been identified, were transported by private vehicle to Covington County Hospital in Collins with non-life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses reported the plane approached low over a tree line, hit the ground, lost a wheel, and came to rest upright, with at least one wing collapsing upon impact. The pilot informed authorities of engine problems prior to the crash.
Federal investigators are en route to the scene to assess the situation.
